Welcome to 2017…
I had a wonderful New Year’s Eve. From the moment my night started, to the very end when I walked home at 2 am in my sparkly mini-dress. Well, that part wasn’t exceptionally wonderful, but I was happy to not drink and drive.
I felt like a glowing ball of love all night because I was so happy to be around my friends and co-workers. I felt so blessed. I also threw up the rocker symbol about a thousand times so I apologize for that. I am a child of the grunge era.
My mom came to visit for a few days so Squeak was thrilled to relax with her all weekend. She rarely gets a chance to see my side of the family because they live four hours away, but we get together whenever possible.
It worked out for me because I was able to go out for New Year’s Eve for the first time in a few years! Even if I decided to walk home…
New Year’s is actually my favorite holiday. Though, I don’t think I realized it until this year.
I love that feeling of having a clean slate and being able to start fresh again in a brand new year.
New Year’s resolutions? Well, I have a few… Would you like to hear them? Is that why you read this blog post? Hmmmm….okay.
Start free-lance writing outside this website. I’ve always wanted to do it. I’ve always talked about doing it. Now I shall actually do it.
Open a college fund for Squeak. I actually did this already. I did it today believe it or not.
Go to the Caribbean with friends. This has to happen. I’ve never been anywhere that qualifies as the quintessential warm beachside vacation. It’s time.
Vegetables. More and more veggies for Squeak and I. I hope to clear up my skin with water and a better diet. Fingers crossed.
Absorb every moment. And write about it. Phone down, fully present, totally mindful.
Mindful mothering. I want to remind myself to be there when I’m with my daughter. Listen more. Enjoy more. Let loose a little a bit and have more fun as a parent.
Above is Squeak and my first picture together of 2017. One of us is still asleep and the other was too excited to get any sleep.
Keep it fresh,
And what, may I ask, are your resolutions dear readers? Leave your comments below!
